On June 7, the Official Journal of the European Union noted, in connection with the publication of the European Cybersecurity Act regulation, that ANSSI (the French National Cybersecurity Agency) is fully compliant with this regulation.

In practical terms, this means that all French providers of security solutions certified by this French certification authority are now automatically certified at the European level.

Many of these French security solutions are members of the umbrella organization HexaTrust. HexaTrust is represented in Belgium by Cyber Security Management (CSM). “We are delighted with this certification,” says Peter Braem, founder and chairman of the board of directors at Cyber Security Management. “This certification aligns perfectly with our positioning as a distributor serving the Belgian and Luxembourg markets. We have deliberately chosen to distribute exclusively European security solutions that have already proven their worth. This European-level certification also serves as a real springboard for European strategic autonomy. It is a sign that there are sufficient high-quality security solutions of European origin to optimally secure our clients’ IT systems and infrastructure and protect them against potential hacking.”

The EU Cybersecurity Act will officially enter into force on June 27. It will promote the use of certified solutions throughout the EU, thereby strengthening the security of the Union’s digital single market. “By creating a single EU-wide certification, European institutions are seeking to eliminate barriers to entry in the security market and reduce costs,” continues Peter Braem. “This is excellent news! From now on, international companies and organizations will no longer need to obtain different cybersecurity certificates in the various countries where they operate. Furthermore, both consumers and businesses will find it easier to choose among the available products and services, which, overall, should boost confidence in new technologies.”
